Description
An unusual sunflower variety with a very unique appearance.

The variety gets a beautiful, fluffy center in sooty tones while the pointed petals go in a little more in rose pinkish.

Astra rose's beautiful flowers start out creamy white and then transition more and more to the pink tones as it grows larger and more spread out. This sunflower was first grown by us at Florea in Anna Kubel's garden in the summer of 2024.

There it adorned both the kitchen garden and the back of the greenhouse with its pinkish robe.

Fantastic both in a bed but also as a cut flower in bouquets! (The variety is branching and often has more flowers per stem).

Care and cultivation advice

Propagate indoors in March-April in potting soil, one seed per pot. Try to keep the seed at 20-25 degrees before germination and after germination bright and cool. If the roots are peeking out the bottom of the pots, it is time to replant them to larger ones. The plants are planted out when they have hardened off properly and the risk of frost is over. The sunflower likes a sunny position and plenty of room to grow. It thrives in nutrient-rich planting soil, and for really tall sunflowers we recommend fertilizing and feeding during the season.

The variety can also be sown directly on the site in May-June.
