Description
A fantastic zinnia variety with large, beautiful, dahlia-like flowers in beautiful salmon pink color.

The variety is known for its long and strong stems, but also for its incredibly long vase life.

Benary's Giant Salmon Rose is also extra resistant to mildew and drought, which we at Florea really think are two big pluses. This is a recurring favorite at the home of our founder Erik Hoekstra who usually co-planted Benary's Giant Salmon Rose together with the palm cabbage Nero Di Toscana.

Because the variety has very long stems, they weave in so beautifully with the dark palm cabbage.

Care and cultivation advice

Propagate indoors in seed soil March-April, preferably covered with a transparent cover with air holes. Make sure to water before sowing and keep the soil moist throughout the germination period. Before germination, the seedlings should be kept at a temperature of 20-25 degrees and after germination in a cool place with as much light as possible.

The seedlings are planted out after they have hardened off properly and when the risk of frost has passed. Thrives best in a sunny position in well-fertilized and well-drained soil. The variety can also be sown directly on the site in May-June when the soil is warm and ready for cultivation. For a longer and more splendid flowering period, reYellowarly cut off the withered flowers. Cut a few millimeters above the top pair of leaves on the stem where the flower is located. This encourages new flowering and growth.
