It's not uncommon to see them swarming around the plant when it's in bloom, which makes thyme the perfect attraction for a kitchen garden or any other type of vegetation.\n\nThyme is easy to grow, simple, and versatile. We recommend starting thyme indoors or winter sowing it in plastic containers for larger plants and earlier harvest. The seeds are light germinators, so be careful not to cover them too much, just gently press them into the soil surface. If you start thyme indoors, it's important to harden off the seedlings before planting them outside. Thyme thrives in most soils but prefers a well-drained growing site with a little sand mixed into the soil.
