Description
A unique broccoli variety, thanks to its distinctive color and taste.

The variety produces slightly smaller broccoli bouquets but abundantly throughout the season.

The burgundy-colored broccoli is incredibly decorative to the eye and a pure joy to use in cooking. Magical when used in stews, casseroles, or both boiled and roasted.

Personally, we at Florea believe that it perhaps shines at its best in soup, where its lovely color can take a central place.

Or in a broccoli lasagna with mascarpone and pumpkin seeds, yum!

Care and cultivation advice

Pre-cultivate indoors 4-6 weeks before you need to plant the broccoli outdoors. Sow sparsely on moistened seed soil and make sure to keep the soil consistently moist through the germination period. Cover the sowing with transparent covering with air holes for the best germination results, but it can also work without this step. Once the seeds have germinated, the seedlings should be kept cool and in as much light as possible. When the seedlings have grown a bit, plant them into individual pots using vegetable or potting soil. Consider using grow lights in darker areas for robust and vigorous plants.

Just like all young plants, this variety need to be protected from strong spring sun. So let the plant stand for shorter periods in the sun for the first few days so that it can acclimatize! Plant the broccoli seedlings slightly deeper than they were in the seedling pots. This variety thrives best in well-fertilized, nutrient-rich soil with a high calcium content. We recommend using cabbage netting to protect cabbage larvae.

This variety can also be directly sown in the planting area when the soil temperature is at least 5 degrees Celsius, but pre-cultivation is recommended.
