An easy-to-grow variety that is just as beautiful freshly harvested as it is dried, which is a significant plus. Did you know that amaranth leaves are edible? Smaller leaves have a spinach-like taste, while the larger ones need to be cooked, for example, sautéed in a bit of oil and garlic—yum!

Care and cultivation advice

Pre-cultivate March-April. Gently press the seeds on top of the sowing soil. Cover the seed with a thin layer of soil and/or vermiculite. When the seeds germinate place the seed a little cooler and very bright. Can be planted out in a sunny position when the risk of frost is over. Just like all young plants, this variety needs to be protected from strong spring sun. So let the plant stand for shorter periods in the sun for the first few days so that it can acclimatize!

(This variety can also be sown directly when the soil is properly warmed up. Make sure the soil is moist during the germination period!)
