Description
A pleasant and traditional herb that produces beautiful, sweet, delicate flowers.

The variety is fast-growing, fine-leaved and great for freezing.

The dried flowers of this variety can also be used as everlastings as they are incredibly decorative.

With its sweet, mild, and slightly peppery onion flavor, it is perfect as a topping for many different dishes.

Chives are a popular and traditional favorite that is delightful in cold sauces, chicken dishes, or with fish.

It is also a very good flavor companion to the dill herb and incredibly easy to grow. This variety is perfect for making homemade herb oil, fresh cheese with chives, or why not oven-baked salmon with a creamy chive topping? So incredibly delicious!

Care and cultivation advice

Sow indoors in March-April. Make sure the soil is kept moist throughout the germination period and that the sowing is kept in a bright and cool place. Sow densely in clumps in planting soil or vegetable soil.

Transplanting is done when the risk of frost is over and the plants have been properly hardened. It thrives in both sun and shade. The variety thrives best in loose, nutrient-rich soil but can grow in most soils and even in heavy clay.

The variety can also be sown directly in the planting location as soon as the soil has warmed up and until August.

(Note that the variety tends to self-seed vigorously and that an older clump of chives benefits from being divided and replanted after about 5 years!)
