This variety is a Cos lettuce and is a nice cultural heritage from 1870. In addition to being one of the oldest lettuce varieties, it is also considered by many to be the tastiest. The variety forms small, pleasant, high-built heads. The green leaves are self-closing, and with a crispy, yellow interior, the variety has a very fresh and crispy taste. The variety is fast-growing and has slightly longer shelf life than other varieties.

Care and cultivation advice
Sow directly in the planting location when the soil is workable. Ensure that the soil is watered thoroughly before and after sowing, and that the soil is kept moist throughout the germination period. Sow in stages for a good supply and abundant harvest throughout the summer season. A good tip is to harvest thinning to 25 cm and then harvest smaller leaves or whole plants.
