Description
The well-known variety Atlantic Giant is truly a pumpkin like no other.

It is particularly famous for all the pumpkin competitions worldwide, where this variety is commonly used due to its ability to grow enormous.

The current world record for the largest Atlantic Giant pumpkin stands at an impressive 800 kg.

The variety is fast-growing and perfect for those who want to grow their own Halloween pumpkin in the fall, either for carving into a lantern or using as decoration.

It also works excellently for culinary purposes, such as soups, pies, and various types of pickling. Our product images of the Atlantic Giant were taken from our very own Gardening Club, which had the opportunity to test-grow this massive beauty in the summer of 2023.

Care and cultivation advice

Pre-cultivate indoors in moist planting soil or vegetable soil, one seed per seedling pot. Cover the sowings with transparent cover equipped with air holes for optimal germination results, but it's also works without it. Place the seeds at around 25°C before germination and around 20°C after germination, ensuring they receive as much light as possible. When the roots start to show at the bottom of the seedling pots, it's time to plant them into larger pots or planting containers.

Just like all young plants, this variety need to be protected from strong spring sun. So let the plant stand for shorter periods in the sun for the first few days so that it can acclimatize! This variety needs plenty of space to grow and produce fruit in a sunny and sheltered location. Pumpkins thrive best in sandy or light clay soil. The variety requires ample nutrients and water throughout the summer season. Fertilizing multiple times for a successful harvest!
