Say hello to perhaps the most beautiful of sweet pea varieties, at least according to us at Florea.

Spring Sunshine Champagne is a light pink sweet pea that comes in soft and romantic peachy tones.

It is a very unique and sought-after variety because, unlike other sweet pea varieties, the seeds are much harder to come by. The fantastic thing about the Spring series is the incredibly long stems that are extremely well-suited for cutting.

Lovely in bouquets and lasts a long time in a vase, which is a significant plus.

Spring Sunshine Champagne is in a class of its own, both in terms of characteristics and color—a sweet pea favorite that is almost impossible to surpass.

Care and cultivation advice

Sorten kan sås direkte på voksestedet, når jorden er blevet varm, eller forspires indendørs i såjord fra marts til maj. Forsøg at holde såningen ved 18–20 °C inden spiring og derefter køligt og så lyst som muligt efter spiring. Planterne håndteres meget forsigtigt ved ompotning, da de er skrøbelige.

Udplantning sker, når planterne er afhærdede, og risikoen for frost er ovre. Planterne knibes ved 8–10 cm for at give et mere busket udtryk. Ærteblomst trives bedst i dyb, veldrænet og muldrig jord og vokser og udvikler sig bedst på en solrig og beskyttet placering.

Vores bedste tip til at lykkes med ærteblomster er at plukke blomsterne – allerhelst hver dag. Jo flere du plukker, desto flere får du. For hver buket, du tager ind, belønnes du med endnu flere blomster. Hvis du ikke plukker dem, vil planten i stedet bruge sin energi på at danne frøbælge.

(Husk, at sorten har brug for plantestøtte som fx et espalier eller en væg, og for længere blomstring bør planten løbende nippes lidt løbende).
