Description
A delightful Asian leafy green with shiny dark green leaves and tender stems.

The beautiful spoon-shaped flavorful leaves come in low, decorative, dense rosettes.

The variety is incredibly fast-growing and the taste of these appetizing leaves is spinach-like.

Tatsoi is a very versatile leafy green that can be used raw, sautéed, steamed, stir-fried, or braised.

It goes perfectly as a complement to other salad greens such as arugula, spinach, peas, and watercress, for example.

The fresh and peppery tones go incredibly well with citrus, fennel, apple, and mint, taking cooking to new heights.

It is also fantastic when fried in garlic and used in stir-fries or as a side dish for meat and fish. Tatsoi is an incredibly good source of vitamins A, C, and K, as well as potassium, calcium, carotenoids, and folate.

So, if you are looking for a versatile but healthy leafy green that takes you to new taste destinations, we highly recommend Tatsoi!

Care and cultivation advice

Sow sparsely directly in the planting area when the soil is workable and can be sown until July. Thrives best in fertile nitrogen-rich soil but can also grow in sandy and clayey soils. Make sure to water the soil thoroughly before sowing and keep it moist throughout the germination period. Can be sown in batches for good availability throughout the summer season and the leaves can be harvested gradually.

A tip to achieve the best results is to thin out the plants so that they have a distance of about 20-35 cm. The plants that are thinned out are also great to eat even if they are a little smaller. Cover the plants with a fiber cloth that protects against pests. The variety also tolerates light frost.
