A delicate leafy vegetable with round, finely lobed leaves. This variety is very easy to grow and is among the healthiest foods we humans can eat. Watercress is incredibly rich in many minerals as well as vitamins A, C, and E which are good for the skin, eyesight, and immune system. 100 g of watercress contains more vitamin C than a clementine, more vitamin E than broccoli, and more calcium than 100 ml of milk.
Watercress has a special but appetizing, mild mustard flavor that reminds a little of classic sandwich cress. It is excellent in salads or as a topping on dishes and sandwiches.
Watercress soup with potatoes and chives or a salad with caramelized walnuts, apple, and watercress are two favorite recipes for this variety, but it is almost best enjoyed simply on a breakfast sandwich.

Care and cultivation advice
Sow directly in the planting area as soon as the soil is workable and warmed up. Make sure to water before sowing and keep the soil moist during germination. The variety thrives best in rich soil. Watercress grows best in a moist planting area and is suitable as a water plant around, for example, streams, so it is important that it has access to plenty of water and does not dry out.
It can also be sown indoors year-round for container gardening or hydroponic cultivation.
