Pre-order only, delivery in early September

‘Purple Globemaster’ is one of the most impressive allium varieties we’ve seen at Florea—a massive violet flower globe that floats high on sturdy stems about 70–100 cm tall.

With its dense, deep purple flowers measuring up to 20 cm in diameter, it creates an almost magical focal point in the garden.

It blooms in early summer and is stunning both as a solitary specimen and in larger groups.

It pairs especially well with perennials like salvia or geum, creating beautiful color and contrast combinations.

Easy to grow and a favorite of pollinators, Purple Globemaster has also been awarded the prestigious Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society for its outstanding garden performance.

(Not favored by deer or other animals, so it gets to bloom in peace!)

Care and cultivation advice

Plant the bulb with the pointed end facing up. Plant it at a depth two to three times the height of the bulb. If you live in an area with frequent ground frost, plant it even deeper for better protection. Don’t forget to water after planting.

For long-lasting and recurring blooms, fertilize the allium bulb in the following seasons, especially if the soil is poor. Apply fertilizer during the bulb’s active growth in spring and early autumn. Spread composted cow manure rich in phosphorus and potassium or use a classic bulb fertilizer.
