Among all the wonderful allium varieties, Silver Spring is undoubtedly our favorite.

The long stems are perfect for cut flowers and produce beautiful semi-spherical flower globes in a white-pink shade with a black eye.

Silver Spring can also be dried, making it highly decorative, which is a significant advantage for this variety.

Even the buds, which are white and green, are incredibly beautiful to use in bouquets and flower arrangements.

This variety is particularly known as a favorite for cut flowers and lasts unexpectedly long in the vase. Silver Spring naturalizes well and is likely to return year after year.

Deer and hares dislike allium, which means you can have your fantastic spring bulb all to yourself!

Care and cultivation advice

Plant the bulb with the pointed end facing upwards. Plant it at a depth that is 2-3 times the height of the bulb. If there is often a risk of frost in your area, you can plant it even deeper to provide better protection for the bulb. Don't forget to water after planting.

For prolonged and recurring blooming, allium bulbs need to be fertilized in the upcoming seasons, especially if the soil is poor. This should be done when the bulb is actively growing during spring and early autumn. Spread composted manure that is rich in phosphorus and potassium or use classic onion fertilizer.
