Bred in Italy, its snowy-white blooms made our floral hearts at Florea leap the moment we saw it in bloom with our growers in Italy.This variety was personally selected for our collection by our creative guide and photographer, Anna Kubel.

Care and cultivation advice

Before planting, soak the anemone tubers in lukewarm water for 3–4 hours to help them rehydrate and wake up. Plant them about 5 cm (2 inches) deep and 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) apart. Don’t worry too much about which way is up – the tubers will orient themselves naturally. Anemones thrive in full sun to partial shade, preferably in well-drained, nutrient-rich soil that stays lightly moist. Keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid overwatering – soggy conditions can cause the tubers to rot. Once flowering begins, you can feed them with a little fertilizer and deadhead the spent blooms to encourage more flowers.

After the season, if you live in a region with cold winters, it's best to lift the tubers and store them in a dry, frost-free place until the next planting season.
