Delphinium ‘Candle Lavender Shades’ is a striking perennial that brings soft lavender hues to the garden.

The strong stems carry dense clusters of blossoms in varying shades of lavender and light violet.Candle Lavender Shades flowers abundantly during summer and is highly attractive to bees and butterflies that are drawn to its nectar-rich blooms.

The plant is equally well suited for perennial borders and as a cut flower, where the tall floral spires and gentle colour palette truly stand out.

Care and cultivation advice

Propagated indoors in seed soil January-April. Make sure to moisten the soil before sowing and cover with a thin layer of soil. Then cover the seed with a transparent cover with air holes for best germination results. After germination, the seed should be placed in a cool place with as much light as possible.

The plants are then planted out once they have hardened off properly and the risk of frost has passed. Larkspur thrives best in a sunny spot in moisture-retaining and nutrient-rich soil.

This variety can also be sown directly on the site when the soil is warmed up and ready for use. Make sure to water the soil well before sowing and keep it moist throughout the germination period. The variety can also be sown outdoors in the fall for earlier flowering the following year.
