Pre-cultivate indoors in seed soil from March to April, and it's recommended to cover the sowings with transparent covering equipped with air holes for better germinate results, but it works also without. Once the seeds have germinated, store the sowings in a cool location with as much light as possible for the best results. To encourage the flowering, it's essential to top the plants. This stimulates growth and produce more side shoots, which results in more flowers. We recommend to top or trim it just above the second or third set of leaves.

Just like all young plants, this variety need to be protected from strong spring sun. So let the plant stand for shorter periods in the sun for the first few days so that it can acclimatize! Choose a sunny location if possible, as it encourages the most blooming, but the variety can also grow in partial shade. Cosmos thrives best in rich, sandy soil with moderate nutrient content. If it receives too much nutrition, it tends to develop more foliage and less flowers.

(This variety can also be sown directly in the planting area once the soil is warmed up, but this will result in slightly later flowering.)

Can also be sown in the fall for bloom the following year. Sow directly in the soil before the frost comes.
