Care and cultivation advice

Start indoors in seed compost in March-April, covering the seeds with a transparent cover with air holes. Once the seeds have germinated, keep the seedlings cool and in as much light as possible for best results. To encourage abundant blooms, it's important to pinch back the plants, which stimulates the production of side shoots, resulting in more buds and flowers. We recommend pinching the plants back just above the second or third set of leaves.

Plant out the seedlings once they have hardened off and the risk of frost has passed. Choose a sunny location for the best blooms, although this variety can also tolerate partial shade. Rosenskära prefers rich, sandy soil with moderate nutrients. Too much fertilizer can result in excessive foliage and few flowers.

(This variety can also be sown directly in the ground once the soil has warmed up, but it will have a slightly later flowering time.)
