Nasturtium ‘Ladybird Rose’ is a charming variety that catches the eye with its soft pink flowers and the deep red spot at the base of each petal.

The round, fresh green leaves frame the blooms beautifully, creating a pleasing balance of colour and form.

The variety has a compact growth habit and flowers abundantly throughout the season.

It is very easy to grow and thrives just as well in garden beds as in pots.

With sufficient light, it can even be grown indoors all year round, bringing warmth and colour to the home during the winter months.The flowers, leaves and seed pods are edible and have a mild, peppery flavour.

Ladybird Rose adds a splash of colour to salads or makes a lovely garnish for a creamy pasta dish with fresh herbs, delicious!

Care and cultivation advice

Sow directly on the site in April-June when the soil is warm and ready for use. Place the seeds in lukewarm water 24 hours before sowing to improve germination. The variety thrives best in light and not too nutrient-rich soil, as this is when most flowers are produced. Preferably in a sunny spot or partial shade.

A tip to get a more lush cress is to cut off wilted flowers as you go!

Creeping watercress is also very sensitive to frost, so cover with a non-woven fabric in the evening if the nights start to get a little colder for a longer flowering season
