Description
A magical and preserved heritage from 1860.

An old and traditional rhubarb variety that, even today, remains one of the most popular varieties worldwide.

The variety produces broad and robust stalks with a beautiful red color.

Inside, they are green and have a medium oxalic acid content.

The variety yields abundantly in both stalks and leaves, which can be used for a variety of purposes, including pies, soup, and juice.

Victoria is a hardy rhubarb variety that is particularly well-suited for Nordic climates. A tip from us at Florea is to either make a refreshing rhubarb lemonade or summery rhubarb squares with vanilla custard, or why not both? Yum!

Care and cultivation advice

The variety can be sown directly when the soil is warmed up. Make sure the soil is properly watered before sowing and that it is kept moist through the germination period. Sow in small groups, with 5 seeds per group. Choose a planting site with clay mixed soil that is well fertilized. Rhubarb does not thrive in the sun but prefers partial shade or a shady location. Harvest very carefully in the second year and the plant will deliver a full harvest in the third year.

Can also be grown indoors, but then the plants need to be properly hardened off and planted out when the risk of frost is over.
