Growing Calendar

We have created a collection together with the Carl Larsson House with flower and vegetable seeds that have been grown at Lilla Hyttnäs in Sundborn since 1888. Carl's paintings have inspired garden enthusiasts, including us, for over a hundred years with their images of the Swedish garden idyll.

The collection consists of two boxes with specially designed seed bags of typical varieties Karin grew in the garden at Lilla Hyttnäs. When choosing the contents of the seed collection, we went through paintings and stories from Lilla Hyttnäs to find connections and more easily imagine what the cultivation probably looked like at the Larsson family home.

A decorative dahlia with velvety petals in deep pink to plum purple shades that sometimes fade to lighter tones toward the tips. The color deepens beautifully as the season progresses, and each bloom feels alive and unique. The rounded flowers, about 10 to 12 cm in diameter, are carried on strong stems with a dark, almost wine red hue that pairs beautifully with the fresh green foliage. Molly Raven flowers abundantly from July until the first frost and is truly exceptional as a cut flower. The stems are strong, the color remains vibrant, and the blooms last beautifully in the vase.
The variety was bred by British gardener and plantswoman Sarah Raven and named after her youngest daughter, Molly. A dahlia with warm character and natural elegance that enhances both the garden and every summer bouquet.

The variety was introduced in the United States in 2001 and was bred by Roy Cinquemani. It is a reliable grower that produces an abundance of blooms known for their exceptional vase life.
This dahlia is a personal favorite of our photographer and creative inspirer Anna Kubel. Not only because it is incredibly versatile in bouquets, but also for its remarkable willingness to bloom.
