Description
A popular and well-known herb in Mediterranean cuisine.

A decorative half-bush with a woody stem and dark green, attractive, aromatic leaves.

The flavorful leaves are used dried and fresh as a spice on, among other things, pizza, salads, and pasta dishes.

The plant also produces pinkish-purple sweet, small flowers and is also incredibly decorative in flower beds and as a border plant.

A big plus with this variety is that it is a beneficial attractant for butterflies and bees. Oregano is not only a useful spice in the kitchen, but it is also incredibly nutritious and used as a medicinal plant around the world today.

Oregano is one of nature's most powerful antioxidants with antibacterial, antiseptic, antifungal, and antiviral properties.

In addition, it strengthens the immune system and can relieve muscle and joint pain. This variety is also organic!

Care and cultivation advice

Start by sowing indoors in soil in March-April. Water gently or use a flower sprayer to moisten the seeds. It's best to cover the sowing with transparent cover equipped with air holes for best germination results.

The variety is transplanted when the plants have hardened off properly and the risk of night frost is over. Oregano thrives best when grown slightly elevated as it does not like to stand in moisture, otherwise excess water may run off. Ideally in a sunny and warm location.

It can also be sown in pots outdoors or on open ground for cultivation from May to September.

Don't forget to top the plants to make them branch out and get a more bushy growth habit!
