Crown imperial, also known as Fritillaria, is a cherished bulbous plant that adds color to the garden as early as spring.
Its dangling flowers attract attention and look great in both flowerbeds and larger plantings. The bell lily thrives in sun to partial shade and well-drained soil, where it returns year after year. It is also usually left alone by deer and other grazing animals.
The beautiful flowers are also excellent for picking for spring bouquets. The bell lily works just as well with other spring bulbs as it does in its own areas where the tall flowers can take center stage.
