In my garden, flowers thrive side by side with vegetables. Sweet peas are allowed to meander along the artichokes and carrots are planted at the forefront of the asters. It doesn't have to be perfect, but there should always be plenty to harvest.

Over the past few years I have been slowly building up our garden, each year expanding it in some way. Last year we finished the vegetable garden and our big white greenhouse.
In the greenhouse, tomatoes and cucumbers coexist and form a dense wall of greenery, I love it. Here we harvest vegetables almost daily. Tomatoes have always been a big interest and tomatoes are probably the most used vegetable in the kitchen during both summer and autumn.
There's nothing tastier than tomatoes in the summer, it beats everything!

Cucumbers and tomatoes in all sorts of colors and shapes, it's such a luxury to be able to run out and pick them every single day!

During the summer I tie lots of bouquets from the garden of whatever is blooming at the moment and my favourite flower is the dahlia. The bouquets can be sprawling and a bit meadow-like and fill every available vase indoors during the season.

My favorite is to make a Caprese salad with the tomatoes from the greenhouse. I can eat this for breakfast, lunch and dinner... for weeks without feeling sad!

The garden becomes our green oasis and the summer months feel like the very best of the year.
