Care and cultivation advice
Plant your flower bulbs from September up until about a week before the ground freezes. Both tulips and daffodils do best when planted as soon as possible after you receive them. If you can’t plant them right away, store them in a cool, dark, and dry place.
Bulbs thrive in well-drained soil, whether in garden beds or pots. If planting in containers, choose a frost-resistant pot with drainage holes, and place it in a sheltered spot. Cover the pot with insulating material to protect the bulbs from freezing.
Plant the bulbs about 15 cm deep and with roughly 10 cm spacing between each. During autumn, bulbs need a chilling period (below 9 °C) to trigger sprouting—that’s why they are planted at this time. When spring arrives and the soil warms, they emerge to brighten your garden with vibrant color.
