Care and cultivation advice

The variety can be sown directly on the planting site when the soil has warmed up or pre-cultivated indoors in seed soil from March to May. Try to keep the sowing at 18-20°C before germination and after germination, cool and as bright as possible. The plants are handled very gently when transplanting as they are fragile.

Planting out takes place when the plants have settled well and the risk of frost is over. The plants are topped at 8-10 cm for a more bushy appearance. Sweet peas thrive best in deep, well-drained, and rich soil. They grow and flourish most on a sunny and sheltered planting site.

Our best tip for success with sweet peas is to pick the flowers, preferably every day. The more you pick, the more you get. For each sweet pea bouquet you pick, you will be rewarded with many more. If you do not pick the flowers, the sweet pea will instead put all its energy into producing seed pods.

(Remember that the variety needs support such as a trellis or a wall, and for longer flowering, the plant needs to be cleared a little as you go).
