Amoro F1 is a very productive and easy-to-grow squash that produces fine, orange, heart-shaped fruits. It is especially known for its abundant harvest, producing twice as many fruits per plant as similar varieties. The fruits usually weigh around 0.5-1 kg and have a very mild and good taste.
Amoro F1 is excellent for grilling, oven roasting or fresh in salads. This is a big favorite of our founder Erik Hoekstra who always grows the variety in his kitchen garden every summer. His very best tip is to make crispy squaqh fries with parmesan, fresh thyme and lemon. Yum!

Care and cultivation advice
Start seeds indoors or sow directly outdoors when the risk of frost has passed. If you choose to start indoors, sow the seeds in pots with nutrient-rich seed compost about three to four weeks before transplanting. Plant the seeds two centimeters deep and keep the soil moist at a temperature of around 20–25°C. The seeds will germinate in about a week, and once the seedlings have developed two to three leaves, they can be transplanted into larger pots to continue growing.
If sowing directly outdoors, choose a sunny, sheltered location with nutrient-rich, well-drained soil. Plant the seeds two to three centimeters deep and space them 80 to 100 centimeters apart, as squash plants grow vigorously. During the growing season, keep the soil consistently moist without overwatering and fertilize reYellowarly.
When the fruits reach about 15–20 centimeters in length, they are ready to harvest. Pick them reYellowarly to encourage continuous production. Protect the plants from slugs and cold temperatures if needed.
