Peonies really are one of the most beautiful flowers in the garden. And the lovely thing is that it all starts with a small root that is easy to plant and then grows bigger and more beautiful with every year.

Every year we travel to North Holland to pick out the very finest varieties – peonies we dream of having in our own gardens. Walking through the vast peony fields is something quite special, and most of the peonies there are 2 or 3 years old.

Some take a little time before they flower, but when they do, they are worth every bit of the wait. A peony really is an investment in the garden that you can enjoy for many, many years.
