Description

The zucchini Bianca di Trieste is a classic Italian variety with light green skin and a mild, fresh flavor.

It originates from the area around Trieste in northern Italy and has long been appreciated for its early harvest and abundant yield.

The fruits are slender and elegant, with creamy, tender flesh that suits many different dishes.Bianca di Trieste grows quickly and produces uniform, beautiful zucchinis that are best harvested when they are 10–15 centimeters long for the finest flavor and texture.

This is a zucchini with genuine character, mild and sweet, and can be enjoyed both raw and cooked.Recipe tip:Use a cheese slicer or mandoline to shave Bianca di Trieste into thin ribbons and arrange them on a plate.

Drizzle with olive oil and freshly squeezed lemon juice, sprinkle with a little sea salt and shaved Parmesan, and finish with a few fresh basil leaves.

A light and summery dish that highlights the zucchini’s gentle sweetness.

Care and cultivation advice

Propagated indoors in seed soil, one seed per seed pot. For best germination, cover the seed with a transparent cover with air holes, but it is also possible without. Before germination, the seed should be kept at around 22-25 degrees and after germination in a cool and bright place. When the roots start to appear on the underside of the pots, it is time to transplant them to larger pots or planters.

When the plants reach a height of 25 cm, they need to be topped and then let 2-4 side shoots grow up. The plants are planted out after hardening off and when the risk of frost is over. The variety thrives in a sunny spot such as a greenhouse or a protected warm patio. Squashes thrive best in rich, well-drained soil that may contain a little compost.

This variety can also be sown directly in the field, but for earlier harvesting we recommend pre-planting!
