Description
Goldena is a charming summer squash that produces a plentiful harvest of fairy-tale-like, yellow fruits with delightful flavor.

The fruits are cylindrical and stately, which makes them incredibly decorative.

With the right conditions, the fruits can grow to be about 20-60 cm in size.

The variety is equally good to eat fresh as it is to stew, fry, or pickle.

In addition to the unique appearance and good taste of the variety, the yellow beautiful flowers are also edible.

They are incredibly good filled with ricotta, basil, and parmesan and then fried. This incredible squash really spices up cooking with its enchanting yellow color.

Imagine a yellow creamy squash soup with grated horseradish and chives? Or a roasted squash with basil cream and a summery olive mix? A very pleasant variety that charms both young and old with its summer yellow color!

Care and cultivation advice

Pre-cultivate indoors in seed soil, one seed per seed pot. For best germination, cover the sowing with transparent cover with air holes, but it's also okay without. Before germination, keep the sowing at around 22-25 degrees Celsius, and after germination, cool and as bright as possible. When the roots start to emerge from the bottom of the pots, it's time to transplant them into larger pots or planting containers.

When the plants reach a height of 25 cm, they need to be topped, letting 2-4 lateral shoots grow up. The plants are transplanted after hardening off and when the risk of frost is over. The variety thrives well in a sunny location such as a greenhouse or a sheltered warm outdoor area. Squash thrives best in rich and well-drained soil that may contain some compost.

This variety can also be sown directly at the planting site, but for an earlier harvest, we recommend pre-cultivation!
