Care and cultivation advice

This variety can be sown directly on the planting site when the soil has warmed up or sown indoors in seed soil from March to May. Try to keep the sowing at 18-20°C before germination and after germination cool and as bright as possible. The plants should be handled very carefully when transplanting as they are delicate.

Transplanting should take place when the plants have been properly hardened off and the risk of frost is over. The plants should be topped at 8-10 cm for a more bushy appearance. Sweet peas thrive in deep, well-drained and rich soil. They grow and flourish most on a sunny and sheltered planting site.

Our best tip for success with sweet peas is to pick the flowers, preferably every day. The more you pick, the more you get. For every bouquet of sweet peas you pick, you will be rewarded with many more. If you don't pick the flowers, the sweet pea will instead put all its energy into producing seed pods.

(Remember that this variety needs support such as a trellis or a wall and for longer flowering, the plant needs to be cleared a little as it grows.)
