Summer Snowflake ‘Gravetye Giant’ is an elegant and natural-looking bulbous plant with tall stems and nodding white flowers, delicately marked with small green tips on the petals.

This variety thrives in sun to light shade, where it reliably returns year after year and gradually forms larger clumps over time.

It is also often left untouched by both deer and roe deer.

Care and cultivation advice

Summer snowflake (Leucojum aestivum) is planted in sun to partial shade in well-drained, nutrient-rich, and slightly moist soil. Plant the bulbs at a depth of about 10 cm in autumn. Keep the soil evenly moist, especially during spring, but avoid waterlogging. Allow the leaves to die back naturally after flowering so the bulb can store nutrients for the next year, and optionally apply some fertilizer in spring.
