Description

Feverfew ‘Vegmo Single’ is one of those summer flowers that is hard to be without.

The white, daisy-like blooms with golden yellow centres brighten the garden and bring a sense of summer well into autumn.

The variety is very resilient and is often among the last to flower, even when evenings and mornings start to turn chilly.

It belongs to the much-loved Vegmo series, developed for professional cut flower production, and is known for its strong stems, abundant flowering and exceptionally long vase life.

It also has what are known as cut and come again qualities, meaning it produces new blooms after being harvested.

Our product manager Johanna Damm counts Vegmo Single among her absolute favourites.

She grows it just about everywhere and uses the flowers generously in both bouquets and cooking, as decoration on cakes, salads and other dishes.

The blooms are edible and add both joy and colour, whether they are standing in a vase or brightening up a plate.

Care and cultivation advice

(This variety can be pre-grown but can also be sown directly on the site)

Propagation indoors: Sow the seeds 5-7 weeks before planting out, in spring. Press the seeds lightly against moist soil without covering them - or use a thin layer of vermiculite to hold them in place. Keep the seed evenly moist and place in a bright position. Plant out when the seedlings are hardened off and the risk of frost is over.

Direct sowing outdoors: Sow directly on the site as soon as the soil has warmed up in spring or early summer. Keep the seed moist until the plants are established.

For earlier flowering, the seeds can also be sown late summer to early fall, about 3-4 weeks before the first frost. Winterize with leaves, branches or fleece for best protection!
