With its fluffy, pure white flowers, this unique variety has quickly become a favorite.

A wonderful thing about Candle White Shades is that it's a perennial and returns to the garden year after year. This is one of Anna Kubel's big garden favorites, and she often uses the variety for cut flowers due to its long-lasting vase life and impressive appearance in bouquets.

At her home, these grow in the perennial flowerbed as a background plant, with some shorter varieties in the front.

Whenever she wants to add some height to her bouquets, she picks a few stems of Candle White Shades, and it looks just as beautiful every time!

Care and cultivation advice

Sow indoors in seed compost from January to April. Make sure to moisten the soil before sowing and cover with a thin layer of soil. Cover the sowing with transparent cover equipped with air holes for best germination. After germination, place the sowing in a cool and bright location. The seedlings are transplanted after hardening off and when the risk of frost is over.

Larkspur prefer a sunny location in moist and nutrient-rich soil.

This variety can also be sown directly in the soil when it is warm and workable. Make sure to water the soil thoroughly before sowing and keep the soil moist throughout the germination period. The variety can also be sown outdoors in the fall for earlier blooming the following year.

(Larkspur are toxic, especially the seed pods!).
