Description
A stylish and classic red watermelon with a heavenly taste.

Produces large elegant fruits with red flesh and green striped skin.

The variety is also resistant to many diseases unlike other varieties.

Crimson Sweet also has green decorative vines with adorable yellow small flowers. Watermelon contains vitamin C which is an important antioxidant and also vitamin B6 which contributes to a normal and healthy energy metabolism of protein and glycogen.

The variety is great to eat as it is or combined in a fruit salad with other fruits.

Making a healthy and creamy watermelon ice cream or serving a summer watermelon gazpacho to guests are two very fun ways to serve this variety.

Another lovely tip that we at Florea want to share is to grill watermelon and top it with feta cheese, mint, baby spinach and a little grated lemon zest.

Heavenly delicious!

Care and cultivation advice

Start by sowing indoors in seed soil, one seed per planting pot. Make sure to water the soil before sowing and keep it moist throughout the germination period. For best germination results, cover the planting with a transparent cover with air holes, but it also works without this step.

Store the planting at around 25°C before the seeds have sprouted, and around 15-20°C after they have sprouted, and as bright as possible. For best results, use plant lighting during indoor cultivation. When the roots of the pot begin to emerge from the underside, it is time to transplant the seedlings into larger pots or planting containers.

Then plant the seedlings outdoors when they have been adequately hardened and when the nighttime temperature does not fall below 8°C. Choose a warm and sheltered planting site with plenty of space for the roots to grow. A greenhouse or a warm enclosed patio is ideal for Crimson Sweet, but a sheltered and warm patio works as well. This variety is a climbing plant and likes to spread out with its beautiful vines, so make sure it has surface area to do so, or use plant supports. When the fruits begin to grow large, they may need help being tied up to prevent the vines from breaking.

Important to keep in mind! (If this variety is grown in a greenhouse or enclosed patio, it needs help with pollination. The easiest way to do this is to take a small brush or cotton swab and dab it from one flower to another. Repeat this process a few times on all the flowers with the same tool you used earlier.
