Description

The pumpkin ‘Autumn Crown F1’ is a true gem in the kitchen garden.

It produces beautiful, rounded fruits with a warm beige skin and deep orange flesh that carries the scent of autumn and a delightfully sweet flavor.

This variety is a modern take on the classic Crown Prince but matures faster and thrives even better in cooler northern climates.

The flesh is firm, rich in flavor, and suitable for almost any dish, from hearty soups and stews to roasted pieces or pies.

The plant grows vigorously yet remains nicely compact, making it easy to cultivate and care for.

The pumpkins also keep well after harvest.

Autumn Crown F1 is simply a beautiful and reliable variety, equally perfect for cooking and for adding a touch of autumn charm to your home.

Care and cultivation advice

Propagate indoors in moistened potting soil or vegetable soil, one seed per seed pot. Cover the seed with a transparent cover with air holes for best germination, but it is also possible without. Place the seed around 25°c before germination and around 20°c and as bright as possible after germination. A tip to get thick and lush seedlings is to use plant lighting or make sure they are in a really sunny window. Once the roots are peeking out the bottom of the seed pots, it's time to transplant them to larger pots or planters.

Plant out when the seedlings have hardened off properly in a warm and sheltered outdoor location or in a greenhouse. This variety needs a lot of space to grow and produce fruit in a sunny, sheltered position. Pumpkins thrive best in a sandy or light loamy soil. The variety needs plenty of nutrients and water throughout the summer season. Fertilizing many times is a good tip for a successful harvest! This variety likes to climb, so if you have problems with slugs, for example, you can use a trellis or other type of plant support that the vines can climb on.
