Description
Nasturtium ‘Whirlybird Cream’ is a warm and cheerful variety that brightens up any space with its soft, creamy white blooms.

The flowers have a gentle golden hue that gives them a sun-kissed look.

This variety belongs to the much-loved Whirlybird series, known for its compact plants and abundant flowering.

It is incredibly easy to grow and thrives almost anywhere – in pots, borders or hanging baskets.

With enough light, it can even be grown indoors all year round, bringing a touch of summer warmth to the darker months.The flowers, leaves and seed pods are all edible and have a mild, peppery flavour.

The pale petals make a lovely addition to salads, open sandwiches or as a simple decoration on a savoury tart.

Care and cultivation advice

Sow directly on the site in April-June when the soil is warm and ready for use. Place the seeds in lukewarm water 24 hours before sowing to improve germination. The variety thrives best in light and not too nutrient-rich soil, as this is when most flowers are produced. Preferably in a sunny spot or partial shade.

A tip to get a more lush cress is to cut off wilted flowers as you go!

Creeping watercress is also very sensitive to frost, so cover with a non-woven fabric in the evening if the nights start to get a little colder for a longer flowering season
