Description
A strong, powerful, aromatic herb with a minty flavor.

The leaves are green and the small, enchanting flowers are purple.

This variety is a well-known flavoring in sauces, tea, liqueurs, and confectionery.

Peppermint also has medicinal properties and is used as a healing plant in many parts of the world.

The variety contains large amounts of menthol, which is antiseptic and strongly antispasmodic, and helps to counteract inflammation. Grilled rhubarb with peppermint, vanilla, and cardamom yogurt is a favorite dessert of ours at Florea and is often enjoyed many times during the summer season.

This variety is also fantastic for making tea and is excellent in all kinds of mojitos. If you place a pot of peppermint in your greenhouse or enclosed porch, it will smell absolutely lovely!

Care and cultivation advice

Sow indoors in seed soil in February-March. The seeds are covered with a very thin layer of perlite. It is recommended to cover the sowing with transparent cover equipped with air holes for optimal germination. Make sure to keep the sowing at around 20-22 degrees Celsius and after the seeds have sprouted, around 15-18 degrees Celsius. Try to place the sowing in the brightest spot possible.

The plants can be planted outside after proper hardening off and when the risk of frost is over. Peppermint thrives best in well-drained, rich, and fertile soil. Full sun to partial shade is optimal for peppermint to thrive and flourish.
