This gorgeous summer phlox is one of our absolute favorites at Florea.

This magical variety comes from Holland, where it is known as the pride of the Netherlands.

Given its beauty and popularity around the world, it certainly lives up to its name. Cherry Caramel is in a class of its own with its beautiful color range of coffee, cream and raspberry.

It blooms beautifully and lushly until the first night of frost.

The variety is perfect for cutting flowers thanks to its long durability in a vase and gives all bouquets that little extra.

It is not only popular with us humans, but also with all our pollinators who like to flock around this charming summer phlox variety.

It smells lovely and is a delight to the eye in all flower beds, pots and plantings. If we could only choose one summer phlox variety, it would be Cherry Caramel every day of the week.

Once you have grown it, it is hard to be without the variety, a must for those who like to make their own summer bouquets.

Care and cultivation advice

The seeds have a dark germination and should be pre-cultivated indoors in seed soil from March to April. Cover the sowing with a thin layer of soil and dark plastic for best results. The plants can be transplanted after hardening off and when the risk of frost is completely over.

A tip is to top the plants once for a bushier appearance.

This variety can also be sown directly on the planting site in warmer growing zones. Summer phlox thrives in both partial shade and bright sun but prefers well-drained soil.
