Description
A fabulous salad basil with beautiful dark purple leaves.

The leaves are slightly toothed, glossy, and flavorful.

The attractive light purple flower spikes are not only incredibly decorative, but they can also be eaten and used as a garnish.

The leaves are good fresh or dried in salads and stews.

In addition to the variety's edible properties, the Red Rubin basil is also an incredibly attractive ornamental plant.

It looks incredibly decorative in pots on the balcony or on the windowsill. We recommend making homemade pesto with Red Rubin because the color is so magical.

Imagine a fancy caprese salad with colorful tomatoes and purple pesto, magical! (A big plus for this variety is that it is organic!)

Care and cultivation advice

Start the indoor cultivation in March-April using seed soil and plant or vegetable soil. It's best to cover the seedlings with transparent cover with air holes for better germination, but the variety thrives best in a mini greenhouse. Water gently or use a flower sprayer to moisten the seeds. When the roots begin to emerge from the seedling pot, it's time to replant them in a larger pot.

The variety can be transplanted when the plants have been properly acclimated and the risk of night frost has passed.

A tip is to top the plants to encourage branching and a bushier growth pattern!
