Description
A popular, decorative and traditional herb.

A beautiful evergreen shrub with lilac-pink sweet small flowers that both smell and taste delicious.

Thyme is today one of our most useful spices.

Both the leaves and flowers can be eaten fresh or dried in marinades, sauces, soups, vinegar, and tea. We highly recommend adding a bit of this variety to mashed potatoes or spaghetti carbonara. The variety is also very popular among our pollinators and a good attractant to vegetable gardens. (A big plus with this variety is that it is also organic!)

Care and cultivation advice

Start indoors in seed compost February-March. The soil needs to be moistened before sowing. The seeds are light germinators and only need to be gently pressed into the soil surface. It's recommended to cover the sowing with a transparent cover with air holes for optimal germination. The temperature should be around 20-22 degrees Celsius before germination and around 18-20 degrees Celsius after germination, and be placed as bright as possible.

Plant out after the plants have been properly hardened and the risk of night frost is over. Thyme grows well in most soil types but thrives best in well-drained soil with a little sand mixed in. Both a sunny spot and a semi-shady spot work.

This variety can also be sown directly in the planting area or in pots from May to September and should then be winter covered.
