Description
Baby Blue is a charming eucalyptus variety with small, dense leaves in a soft blue-green shade that shimmers slightly in silver.

Unlike varieties such as cinerea and silver dollar, baby blue has much smaller leaves and is therefore easier to place in bouquets.

The variety can also be dried and looks very beautiful in eternity bouquets or other types of flower arrangements.

This is a big favorite of Hanna Wendelbo who always grows baby blue at home.

A clear bouquet favorite that produces plenty of beautiful eucalyptus branches that she uses extensively in all types of flower arrangements.

With her we also find very large specimens as she always overwinters her plants frost-free and we are always equally impressed every time we visit her!

Care and cultivation advice

Indoor seedlings should be started in seed soil with a transparent cover equipped with air holes or a layer of vermiculite at around 20-22 degrees Celsius. When the seeds have germinated, the sowing should be kept in a bright and cool location at around 15-20 degrees Celsius. The plants are transplanted after hardening off and when the risk of frost has passed.

The plant thrives best in acidic soil with a low pH value. We strongly recommend using Rhododendron soil. Since eucalyptus has constant root growth, it doesn’t like to be transplanted too many times. Therefore, it may be a good idea to plant it in a larger pot at once when it will be transplanted to its final location.

(Eucalyptus can survive the winter in frost-free areas.)
