Early Iron Cherry Blossom produces long, magical flower spikes with double blooms in the same color as the pink flowers of cherry trees.

A delight in both flower beds and bouquets.

Thanks to its long vase life, Early Iron Cherry Blossom has quickly become a favorite for cut flowers. A significant advantage of this variety is that it blooms much earlier than other gilly flowers varieties!

Care and cultivation advice

Pre-cultivated indoors February-April in seed soil. Cover the seed with a thin layer of soil and/or vermiculite. When the seeds have started to germinate, they want to stand in a cooler place, preferably around 6-12 degrees with lots of light for the best result. The first small leaves on the plant will either get dark-green or light-green. The plants that get lighter leaves are more likely to develop double flowers while the dark ones tend to get single flowers.

The plants can be planted out when the risk of frost is over. Just like all young plants, this variety needs to be protected from strong spring sun. So let the plant stand for shorter periods in the sun for the first few days so that it can acclimatize!

(The variety can also be sown directly in April-May on a well-fertilized planting spot)
