Description
Tightly double beautiful flowers in a dark blue-violet shade.

Blue Spire has long sturdy stems that are excellent for cut flowers or drying.

Elegant and grand flowers that look equally decorative in a bouquet as in the garden bed.

The variety can also be planted in deeper pots and is beautiful to co-plant with other tall summer flowers. Delphinium is a genus of flowering plants in the buttercup family and this popular summer flower has been in our gardens since the 16th century.

The stately delphinium is now found all over the world and grows wild, for example in the Alps.

The variety is appreciated and beloved by all our pollinators. (NB! This plant is very poisonous, especially the seeds!)

Care and cultivation advice

Sow indoors in seed compost from January to April. Make sure to moisten the soil before sowing and cover with a thin layer of soil. Cover the sowing with transparent cover equipped with air holes for best germination. After germination, place the sowing in a cool and bright location. The seedlings are transplanted after hardening off and when the risk of frost is over.

Larkspur prefer a sunny location in moist and nutrient-rich soil.

This variety can also be sown directly in the soil when it is warm and workable. Make sure to water the soil thoroughly before sowing and keep the soil moist throughout the germination period. The variety can also be sown outdoors in the fall for earlier blooming the following year.

(Larkspur are toxic, especially the seed pods!)
