Description

Nasturtium 'Whirlybird Cherry Rose' is a charming variety that spreads color and joy with its cherry pink flowers.

The variety belongs to the popular Whirlybird series and has a compact, bushy growth habit where the flowers rise beautifully above the round, green foliage.

It is very easy to grow and flowers abundantly throughout the season, both outdoors in beds and indoors in pots where, with sufficient light, it can flower all year round.

Both flowers, leaves and seed pods are edible and have a mild, peppery flavor that makes them a decorative and flavorful addition to salads and other dishes.

Care and cultivation advice

Sow directly on the site in April-June when the soil is warm and ready for use. Place the seeds in lukewarm water 24 hours before sowing to improve germination. The variety thrives best in light and not too nutrient-rich soil, as this produces the most flowers. Preferably in a sunny spot or partial shade.

A tip to get a more lush cress is to cut off wilted flowers as you go!

Creeping watercress is also very sensitive to frost, so cover with a non-woven fabric in the evening if the nights start to get a little colder for a longer flowering season
