Description
This lovely variety of delphinium is a must-have for all those who love delphiniums.

The beautiful white shade combined with the double flowers is breathtaking.

The fluffy, azalea-like blooms resemble little summer clouds and are very hard to resist.

Potomac Ivory White has long, sturdy stems that are perfect for cutting.

This variety lasts a long time in a vase and provides fantastic form and dynamics in bouquets. Delphiniums are fantastic flowers for those who like to bring in many bouquets in the summer.

The more flowers you pick from the plant, the more you will get.

Potomac Ivory White is also known for its strong vitality and produces abundant flowers throughout the season.

It is beloved by all our pollinators and the flowers are also edible. Did you know that Potomac Ivory White also works great in a pot? As long as the pot is large and the variety has plenty of room for its roots to grow, it works perfectly fine.

Care and cultivation advice

Start by pre-cultivating indoors in sowing soil, and make sure to moisten the soil before sowing. The seeds are photogenic, so place them on the surface of the soil and press them down gently. Cover the sowing with a transparent cover equipped with air holes, or make sure to ventilate it reYellowarly. Before germination, store the sowing at around 20-25 degrees Celsius, and then cool and brighten it.

One tip is to top the plants after six leaf pairs have formed or just before they are transplanted to their final planting site. Transplanting should take place after hardening off and when the risk of frost is over. Sweet William thrives best in a sunny location with nutritious and airy soil.

ReYellowarly clear the area for a longer and more lush bloom. Feel free to pick the beautiful flower spikes often, as this promotes the emergence of new flowering shoots. So the more flowers you pick, the more you get - wonderful, isn't it?

Reviews

Why we started Florea

Florea grew out of a feeling that something was missing. We couldn’t find anyone online who truly inspired people to grow in a way that felt modern or relevant. It was either very technical or felt a little dated. To us, gardening has always been so much more: something emotional, creative and inspiring.

We wanted to show that gardening is about more than plants. It’s about the feeling of creating something yourself, the calm it brings and the positive effect it has on both body and mind. We felt that side of gardening wasn’t really being given the space it deserved.

What Florea stands for

In a world that keeps moving faster, where more is being automated and AI is always part of the conversation, we feel a strong need to hold on to what makes us human. Growing something yourself is a simple but powerful way to do that.

We often come back to our phrase “Fabrique moi même”, which to us means “created by me”. It captures the heart of what we believe: that the most meaningful things are often the ones you create yourself, even if they’re small or not quite perfect.

A family legacy since 1940

Florea was founded in 2020 by Erik Hoekstra, son of Johannes Hoekstra and grandson of Georg Hoekstra. The company is rooted in a family tradition where gardening and flowers have always been a natural part of life.

It all began with Georg, who grew up among the flower fields of Lisse in the Netherlands. After the Second World War, he began exporting flower bulbs to Scandinavia. Johannes later took over the business, and Erik grew up helping out in the family’s flower fields.

Through Florea, Erik wants to carry on his family’s love of gardening and help more people discover the joy of growing their own flowers, herbs and vegetables.

How does it work if I buy both seeds and bulbs?

How do your pre-orders work?

A pre-order means you order and pay for an item when you buy it, and we deliver it at a later date that we let you know about.

What happens if I buy an in-stock item and a pre-order item?

If you buy an item we have in stock together with a pre-order item, you get a choice at checkout. Either we send your whole order once the pre-order item is in stock, or for a small fee we send the in-stock items straight away and the pre-order item follows later.

Once the order is packed it can unfortunately no longer be changed, but you can return the items within our 30-day return policy.

I didn't manage to collect my parcel. What happens now?

Parcels that aren't collected within the pickup point's time limit are sent back to us. Contact us with your order number and we'll help you get your order sent again.
