Care and cultivation advice

Sow indoors in seed compost from March to May. Try to keep the sowing at around 18-20 degrees Celsius before germination and after germination, keep it cool and as bright as possible. The plants should be handled very carefully when transplanting as they are fragile.

Planting out should be done when the plants have been sufficiently hardened off and the risk of frost has passed. The plants should be topped at 8-10 cm for a bushier appearance. The variety thrives best in deep, well-drained and rich soil. Mix well-rotted manure and compost into the soil. It grows and flourishes the most in a sunny and sheltered location.

The variety can also be sown directly in the planting area when the soil has warmed up and is workable.

(Note that the variety needs support such as a trellis or a wall, and for longer flowering, the plant needs to be cleared a little bit as it grows.)
