Summer phlox 'Coral Reef' is a summer flower with a bushy and compact growth habit that fills plantings with a soft play of colors in coral, pink, yellow, orange and white.

The variety has the cut and come again property which means that the more you harvest, the more the plant continues to produce new flowers, making it very popular as a cut flower.

Coral Reef also has an outstanding vase life and is easy to combine with other summer flowers in bouquets.

Summer phlox Coral Reef is suitable in a bed, pot or as a border plant where its magical colors and prolific flowering give a rich and well-filled effect in the planting.

An incredibly floriferous variety with that little extra when it comes to lushness and color.

Care and cultivation advice

Propagated indoors in seed soil. The seeds are dark-growing, so cover the seed with a thin layer of vermiculite or soil and a dark cover with air holes. Once the seeds have germinated, the seed should be stored in a cool place at around 17-19 degrees and as bright as possible.

The plants are planted out when they have hardened off properly and the risk of frost is over. The variety thrives best in well-fertilized, loose and well-drained soil. In a sunny position but also partial shade works well.

For a bushier appearance and growth habit, the plants should be topped once. For longer flowering time, the plants need to be weeded regularly and receive some nutrition from time to time.
