Description
Bread Seed Poppy is an older poppy variety that can be traced all the way back to the 1750s thanks to its fine characteristics.

The variety offers large, thin flowers in light shades of purple, pink and white, often with a darker stripe at the very bottom.

The variety flowers on tall stems, which are often seen as beautifully floating in flower beds and plantings. After flowering, round seed pods are formed filled with small and edible seeds that can be used in baking.

A very easy-to-grow variety that also seeds itself easily and returns faithfully year after year.

Care and cultivation advice

Sow directly on the site when the soil has warmed up and is ready for use. Make sure to water the soil before sowing and keep it moist throughout the germination period.

Poppies can also be sown in the fall for earlier flowering. The variety thrives best in lime-rich and well-drained soil. It can also grow on more nutrient-poor soils, but will not be quite as vigorous and lush.
